Karrin Taylor Robson may have secured former President Donald Trump’s endorsement before her primary opponent, but when it came to appearing on my show, Andy Biggs beat her to it.

Now she’s rectifying that by joining the AZ Political Podcast to discuss how she would govern if elected.

We talked about what’s different this time compared to her 2022 gubernatorial run — both in terms of her campaign strategy and the political landscape. She said the biggest change is that she now has Trump’s endorsement, which Kari Lake received in 2022.

Taylor Robson pointed out that Biggs has also been endorsed by Trump. (I joked that she might want to ask for a refund if the former president backs a third Republican.)

I asked whether she agrees with Trump’s efforts to eliminate mail-in ballots and tabulation machines. I don’t think she fully answered that question.

Taylor Robson said she wants to establish a “voting holiday.” In fact, she’s so focused on elections that the first piece of legislation she says she’d propose would address election integrity.

She also wants to create a DOGE-like agency for Arizona and establish what she calls “the governor’s office of congressional accountability,” citing concerns that Arizona’s congressional delegation doesn’t work cohesively enough on key state issues.

To hear more about Taylor Robson’s platform — including her promise that “everyone’s going to know about third grade reading before I’m done” — tune in to the AZ Political Podcast.
