FBI investigating shooting at ICE field office in Phoenix

Nobody was injured Tuesday when shots were fired into the exterior of the ERO building on Central Avenue.

The FBI is investigating after shots were fired at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement field office in Phoenix on Tuesday afternoon.

One or more unidentified people fired several rounds into the exterior of the ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations building on Central Avenue a few blocks north of McDowell Road, the FBI said.

No injuries were reported.

Enforcement and Removal Operations, or ERO, is the division of ICE that manages the immigration enforcement process, including arrests, detention and deportation.

Anybody with information about the gunfire is asked to call the FBI’s tip line at 800-CALL-FBI (225-5324) or submit information through its electronic tip form.
