Main Street Minute: Chandler Police receive highway safety grants

The Chandler Police received a pair of grants to put toward highway safety enforcement and a fast-food chain will add fries with that for free.

• The Chandler Police Department’s traffic unit has received nearly $30,000 in grants from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. The first grant will be used to help enforce the state’s seat belt and child safety seat laws. The second grant covers equipment such as helmets and speed detection devices for members of the traffic unit.

• Barton Associates is hiring 100 employees for its new East Valley office. The Phoenix Business Journal reports the Massachusetts-based recruiting and staffing company for physicians expects to fill 100 positions for the Tempe site and up to 1,000 nationwide by the end of 2017.

• You can get a free medium-size seasoned curly fries at Jack in the Box with any menu purchase. The promotion runs through April 18.
