Traffic heading west out of metro Phoenix on Interstate 10 disrupted by crash

PHOENIX – Traffic heading west out of metro Phoenix was disrupted Friday morning by a crash on Interstate 10, authorities said.

Westbound I-10 was closed in Tonopah around 8:30 a.m. after the crash near Wintersburg Road, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The detour was lifted by 10:15 a.m., ADOT said.

Eastbound traffic was not impacted.

Motorists were directed north on 339th Avenue, west on Indian School Road and south on 411th Avenue to reconnect with westbound I-10 during the closure.

No other details about the incident were immediately available.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story, based on an ADOT report, incorrectly said I-10 reopened within an hour of being closed. The closure lasted closer to two hours.
