Here’s what drivers can expect when hitting the roads across metro Phoenix this weekend

PHOENIX — Valley drivers won’t have to worry about freeway closures this weekend, but there might be a few snags on their drives.

The closures of two cross streets might require some planning ahead to ensure short travel times, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation’s Weekend Freeway Travel Advisory for July 25-27.

What else to know about metro Phoenix traffic advisory for July 25-27

ADOT said Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard will be closed in both directions at the Loop 101 Pima Freeway from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for a widening project. Traffic can detour around the closure using the Loop 101 frontage roads.

Additionally, 31st Avenue will be closed at the Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for bridge work, ADOT said.

Drivers should also know that the eastbound and westbound Loop 101 frontage roads will be closed between 27th and 35th avenues.

All schedules are subject to change.

ADOT recommended that drivers allows extra travel time and use detour routes while the weekend work is taking place.
