State Route 87 reopens in both directions near Fountain Hills

PHOENIX — State Route 87 has reopened in both directions after a closure caused by a brush fire Friday, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Authorities announced both lanes in both directions experienced closures around 11:30 a.m.

The closure on the northbound side was at Bush Highway near Fountain Hills, while the southbound closure was at the State Route 188 junction.

State Route 87 is closed in both directions near Deer Creek. Southbound SR 87 is closed at the SR 188 junction. Northbound is closed at milepost 234.

The closure was due to a brush fire near milepost 234.

The southbound direction reopened around 1:40 p.m., according to ADOT.

The northbound direction reopened around 4 p.m.
