Southbound US 93 reopens near Kingman after vehicle fire

PHOENIX — Southbound US 93 reopened near Kingman on Sunday after the direction closed due to a vehicle fire, the Arizona Department of Transportation announced.

The left lane reopened around 4:40 p.m., roughly 40 minutes after the full closure was announced. The direction fully reopened by about 6 p.m.

The vehicle fire was near milepost 66, about five miles northwest of the Interstate 40 interchange.

US 93 southbound is closed near Kingman due to a vehicle fire at milepost 66.

The closure was not expected to impact northbound traffic.

It could’ve impacted anyone returning to Kingman or the Valley from Las Vegas. US 95 was an available detour for those travelers through the Mohave Valley area.
