Arizona reopens mountain highways closed for winter

PHOENIX — The Arizona Department of Transportation on Wednesday reopened several high-country highways that had been closed for the winter season with another slated for summer passage next month.

The reopened routes include SR 366, known as the Swift Trail, ascending Mount Graham in southern Arizona, along with three White Mountains routes: SR 473 to Hawley Lake, SR 261 between Eagar and Big Lake, and SR 273 between Sunrise Park and Big Lake.

State Route 67, the approach to the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park from Jacob Lake, is scheduled to reopen May 15.
