Pedestrian hospitalized, road closed after collision near Verrado High School in Buckeye

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and seriously injured near Verrado High School in Buckeye on Thursday morning.

PHOENIX – A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and seriously injured near Verrado High School in Buckeye on Thursday morning, authorities said.

Indian School Road on the south side of the school will be restricted for an extended time between Pioneer Drive and 201st Avenue for the collision investigation, according to the Buckeye Police Department.

The injured woman was taken to a hospital, and the driver remained on the scene.

The roadway was still closed as of noon, police said.
