Northbound State Route 51 reopens ahead of schedule

After work crews finished weekend repairs quicker than expected, northbound State Route 51 has reopened for travelers.

The northbound lanes of State Route 51 that were closed this weekend have reopened in Phoenix, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The closure between Northern Avenue and Cactus Road was expected to last until Monday morning, but the work has been completed quicker than expected.

The work was part of the SR 51, Interstate 10 to Shea Boulevard Pavement Rehabilitation Project to removal asphalt.
