Northbound Loop 101 off-ramp at Raintree Drive to close 2 months starting Monday

PHOENIX — The northbound Loop 101 off-ramp at Raintree Drive will be closed for two months beginning Monday due to continuing work on the freeway, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

At 1 a.m. Monday the off-ramp will be closed for approximately 60 days, barring any setbacks that construction crews may experience. Regardless of exact date, ADOT said the Loop 101 off-ramp will reopen by late April.

ADOT told motorists to expect delays in the work area and suggested exiting at Cactus Road to reconnect back onto Raintree Drive via driving northbound on Hayden Road or 94th Street.

Why is the Loop 101 off-ramp closing for 2 months?

In January 2024, ADOT began carrying out a $108 million investment in improving the Loop 101 Pima Freeway between Shea Boulevard and Princess Drive/Pima Road.

The project, which has a scheduled completion date in early 2026, is primarily adding one northbound and southbound lane along the 4.5-mile stretch. A few other project features include the installation of new freeway lighting, traffic signs and transforming the Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard interchange to a “diamond configuration.”

What are other Loop 101 on- and 0ff-ramps affected right now?

The northbound Loop 101 on-ramp at Cactus Road closed on Feb. 10 for 60 days.

The southbound Loop 101 off-ramp at Cactus Road is also currently closed. The closure began Jan. 13 and it will reopen in mid-March.
