Motorcyclist crashes into semi-truck on I-10 while fleeing from DPS

A motorcyclist crashed into a semi-truck on the Interstate 10 after an Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) officer tried to pull them over.

PHOENIX– A motorcyclist fleeing from state troopers crashed into the back of a semi-truck on Interstate 10 in the West Valley on Tuesday, authorities said.

The crash happened on the westbound I-10 near Avondale Boulevard, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS).

A trooper attempted to pull over the motorcyclist for speeding, instead the motorcyclist fled, according to DPS.

The trooper wasn’t pursuing the motorcyclist at the time of the crash due to traffic conditions.

The motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Drivers should expect delays in the area while the scene is under investigation, authorities said.
