A police officer was injured in a crash that temporarily closed a portion of the Loop 202 Santan Freeway in Mesa on Monday night.

A police officer was injured in a crash that temporarily closed a portion of the Loop 202 Santan Freeway in Mesa on Monday night, authorities said.
The officer and another vehicle collided on northbound Loop 202 near State Route 24 just after 9 p.m., according to the Mesa Police Department.
The officer was taken to a hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
Northbound Loop 202 was closed for the cleanup and and investigation but was reopened by Tuesday morning, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
