Fiery crash disrupted rush hour traffic on Interstate 10 through downtown Phoenix

PHOENIX — A fiery crash on Interstate 10 disrupted rush hour traffic through downtown Phoenix on Friday morning.

Firefighters were at the scene of the collision on eastbound I-10 near Seventh Street before 7:30 a.m. Motorists were told to expect delays due to the backup.

The Arizona Department of Transportation traffic map showed traffic backed up beyond the Deck Park Tunnel all the way to I-17 as of 8 a.m.

However, the closed lanes were reopened by around 8:50 a.m., according to DPS spokesperson Raul Garcia.
