PHOENIX — The westbound lanes of Interstate 10 reopened on Monday evening near Riggs Road after a car crash involving a Gila River police vehicle, authorities said.

The officer sustained injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening, according to an Arizona Department of Safety spokesperson.

The westbound lanes were closed for nearly five hours, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The eastbound lanes remained open and were unaffected.
