Rollover crash involving utility truck slows traffic on I-10 in East Valley

A rollover crash involving a utility truck caused traffic issues for drivers near the Phoenix neighborhood of Ahwatukee on Wednesday morning.

PHOENIX — Two people were hurt after a rollover crash involving a utility truck near the Phoenix neighborhood of Ahwatukee on Wednesday morning, according to officials.

The crash happened in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 near Ray Road, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

DPS added that the truck crashed into the center wall. Arizona Department of Transportation cameras in the area showed that the truck rolled over after the crash.

The driver of the truck and a passenger were both taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

The crash blocked the HOV and left two lanes of traffic in the eastbound lanes of I-10.

DPS did not say when the freeway is expected to fully reopen.

No other details about the crash were released.
