Quantum Computing Inc. opens manufacturing facility in Tempe

PHOENIX — Quantum Computing Inc., a photonics and quantum optics technology company, opened a manufacturing facility in Tempe this week.

Construction on the new facility ended in March. The company held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday with Tempe Mayor Corey Woods.

The facility will create photonic chips that will help production to address needs in datacom, telecom, advanced sensing and quantum technology, according to a Tuesday announcement from the company.

“The opening of this foundry by Quantum Computing Inc. represents the kind of forward-looking investment we want to attract to Tempe,” Woods said in the announcement. 

“Not only does it bring high-tech jobs and economic development to our city, it also cements Tempe’s growing reputation as a hub for innovation in quantum technologies and advanced manufacturing.”
