PHOENIX – The Valley restaurant group behind Hash Kitchen, The Mexicano, The Italiano and The Sicilian Butcher is set to open a new deli concept next month.

The Delicatessen will debut at 12811 N. Tatum Blvd. in Phoenix on Sept. 10, the Maggiore Group announced Monday.

The New York-style deli with a bagel bar featuring over 25 options is moving into the former home of The Rosticceria, a Maggiore Group Italian restaurant that closed in October 2024.

The Delicatessen was first announced under a different name

The restaurant group announced plans for a fast-casual deli in the former Paradise Valley Mall area in February. At the time, the working name was Patsy’s New York Delicatessen. But the name will be The Delicatessen, according to Monday’s announcement.

“We are excited to open this one-of-a-kind bagel bar. We will also have a chopped Italian sub bar where guests can pick their meats and ingredients, we will chop it all up and put on a homemade semolina bun,” Joey Maggiore, co-founder of The Maggiore Group and Chef Joey Concepts, said in a press release.

“Our New York-style bagels will be made fresh in-house daily, delivering that perfectly chewy texture and crisp golden exterior that true bagel fanatics crave.”

The Delicatessen will operate from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The restaurant will start hiring later this month.
