PHOENIX — If you need an endless source of pancakes, you may find treasure in the form of a golden pancake at the new Eggstasy location in Queen Creek.
The three visitors who find a golden pancake — a regular pancake adorned with an edible gold leaf — in their stacks on Friday will win the right to free pancakes for life at any of the chain’s eight Valley locations.
Diners who order one of 11 specialty pancakes or pancakes as a side to their meal that day will have a chance for the gilded flapjack.

After opening in the QC District off Rittenhouse and Ellsworth roads in January, the restaurant will also hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday.
Eggstasy owner Peter Verros will be joined by Queen Creek Mayor Julia Wheatley as well as other town officials and commerce leaders at the event.
“Queen Creek has been so good to us,” Verros said in a Wednesday news release. “From the time we started serving, we’ve had a steady stream of guests. We’re proud to offer that Eggstasy value — fresh and plentiful meals and a fair price — to this thriving part of the Valley.”
The location is open daily from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and until 2:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
