PHOENIX — There’s one less whimsical eatery in the Valley.
That’s because a Phoenix restaurant that catered to fans of comic books, cartoons and superhero films closed last weekend.
ComicX Phoenix, which opened in 2019, shuttered its doors at Desert Ridge Marketplace on Sunday.
What was ComicX Phoenix known for?
The restaurant and bar was known for its unique decorations, such as statues of superheroes like Spiderman and beloved cartoon characters like Po from Kung Fu Panda.
Its menus also looked like comic books.
The restaurant was the Mexico-based chain’s first and only expansion into the U.S.
Why is ComicX Phoenix closing?
ComicX USA, the company that oversees its U.S. locations, announced the closure in a social media post released earlier this month.
“We can’t thank you enough for your support, your laughter, and the countless memories we’ve created together,” the post said.
“From family dinners to birthday celebrations, from casual visits to epic nights out—you’ve made ComicX a truly special place, and we are forever grateful.”
The company didn’t share any details on why the restaurant closed.

Nobody except the oligarchs has any money to spare for non-essentials in this new Project 2025 economy. You can look forward to all your favorite eateries and entertainment venues closing in the next 4 years.
The cartels closed it because it won't be doing enough business to launder money thru it. Just another casualties of President Trump kicking azz and taking names.
It's called transparency and what President Trump & VP Vance did is called standing up for America. Two things your president biden didn't do. What President Trump & Putin have is respect for one another. When it comes to disrespecting a dress code you democrats own that one with uncle fester in his hoodies and sweats. FYI Musk dresses according to the occasion.
