Singalong bar Off The Record coming to downtown Phoenix

PHOENIX — A singalong bar called Off The Record will be opening this month in downtown Phoenix.

The joint will be located at 829 North First Ave., just south of Roosevelt Street.

The Phoenix bar will offer an array of music for customers to sing along to, with DJs sorting through contemporary pop, country, R&B, yacht rock and much more. Unlike some establishments, Off The Record doesn’t have a stage or microphones but rather encourages the crowd to steal the show.

The grand opening on May 14 will last from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Normal hours following the opening night will be 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays. Reservations are not required but are recommended.

Singalong sets of music will be offered each night from 7 p.m. to midnight, with each Sunday’s brunch hours being another chance for folks to belt out tunes.

“Off The Record is an immersive, inclusive experience for music lovers who crave connection,” Ryan Oberholtzer, co-owner and co-founder of sister Phoenix eateries Barcoa Agaveria and Provecho, said in a press release. “It’s a place where people can sing their hearts out and truly embrace the joy that comes from letting loose with their favorite tunes, along with a room full of people sharing the same vibe.”

A variety of bar food will be provided nightly by Provecho and there will also be daily drink deals. A shot cart will additionally be on hand for convenient service.

Off The Record will also host private parties for up to 50 people and offer monthly family-friendly experiences called “Tune and Tots.”
