Opening celebration planned for new homes in Estrella Mountain foothills

PHOENIX — New homes are being built in the Estrella Mountain foothills and will be unveiled during a grand opening celebration on Friday, Sept. 26.

The new residential area called the Portfolio at Lucero in Goodyear will support 92 homes with five different floor plans and prices starting in the low $600,000s.

The houses will range from 1,940 to 3,070 square feet with options ranging from three-to-five bedrooms, two-to-three bathrooms and two-to-three car garages.

There are currently seven homes under construction.

“Portfolio at Lucero represents the next chapter in our commitment to building homes that reflect the way people live today – flexible, stylish and rooted in community,” Division President of Richmond American Homes Rick Morris said.

Next chapter of new homes in Estrella

Portfolio at Lucero is the next chapter of Richmond American Homes’ expansion in the Estrella foothills after their successful development of the Seasons at Lucero neighborhood.

Seasons opened in March with 53 homes and two other neighborhoods are expected to open by the end of the year in neighboring areas.

“As the West Valley booms with quality employment and more commercial, entertainment and retail offerings than ever before, homebuilders have turned their attention to the neighborhoods Estrella offers,” Vice President of Development at Estrella Jeff Zimmerman said.

Amenities at Estrella include multiple community centers, resort-style pools, lap pools, two fitness centers and 55 parks that include 65 miles of hiking trails and scenic views.

The Golf Club of Estrella is a Jack Nicklaus-designed championship course available for a daily fee.

What else is happening at the celebration event?

Morris’ company is hosting the grand opening event which runs from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the homesite near the intersection of Estrella Parkway and Cotton Lane.

A five-bed, three-bath model and four-bed, two-bath model will be on display.

The event coincides with a performance of Ballet Under the Stars at the Estrella Lakeside Amphitheater in Goodyear, which begins at 7 p.m.
