Woman’s body found inside Phoenix mobile home after fire extinguished

PHOENIX – Firefighters found the body of a woman after extinguishing a blaze in a south Phoenix mobile home, authorities said early Friday.

The occupants of the home evacuated before crews arrived, and the fire near Seventh Street and Broadway Road was quickly brought under control, Phoenix Fire Capt. Kenny Overton said in an email around 1 a.m.

But afterward, crews discovered the dead woman inside, Overton said. No information about the victim’s identity was made available.

The Phoenix Fire Department is investigating the cause of the blaze, and the Phoenix Police Department is conducting the death investigation.

No other information was immediately available.
