Surveillance video captures two armed robberies before Chandler police make arrest

A 39-year-old woman has been arrested after police say she committed two armed robberies at businesses along Arizona Avenue in Chandler within three days.

Chandler Police said officers responded to an armed robbery around 4:30 p.m. on July 4 at an AMPM gas station at Arizona Avenue and Chandler Heights Road.

The suspect, later identified as Chalina Harrison, fled in a black minivan.

Three days later, while detectives were still investigating the first robbery, that minivan was allegedly captured on license plate recognition technology.

Detectives tracked the vehicle to a parking lot near Ocotillo Road and Arizona Avenue. Minutes later, a second armed robbery was reported at a sporting goods store on Arizona Avenue. Detectives arrested Harrison as she exited the business.

“Technology and Teamwork,” Chandler Police proclaimed in a social post about the bust. “A woman accused of robbing multiple people and businesses at gunpoint is arrested before she could victimize anyone else in our community.”

Harrison was booked on two counts of armed robbery with a deadly weapon and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

She is being kept on $150,000 bond.
