PHOENIX — A woman in a motorized wheelchair has died after being struck by a vehicle in Phoenix last week, authorities said.
Officers found 68-year-old Tracie L. Gordon with critical injuries in the area of 75th Avenue and Encanto Boulevard around 10:10 p.m. on Thursday, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
Detectives with the Vehicular Crimes Unit believe the crash occurred when Gordon tried to cross eastbound in her motorized wheelchair against the traffic signal.
The driver stayed on the scene, police said.
The Phoenix Fire Department arrived to bring her to a hospital, where she was treated by medical staff. However, she died from her injuries a day later, police said.
Impairment is not believed to have played a role in the car crash.
