Police investigating West Valley shooting that left 42-year-old man dead

PHOENIX — An investigation is underway after a shooting over the weekend in the West Valley left a 42-year-old man dead, authorities said.

According to the Surprise Police Department, officers responded to the area of Reems and Bell roads for reports of a shooting on Saturday.

Police found Davaress Bolden with multiple gunshot wounds alongside several people they believe were involved in the incident.

Officers provided Bolden with aid before he was taken by the Phoenix Fire Department to a nearby hospital, where he later died, police said.

Detectives are working with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office regarding any potential charges, according to police.

Investigators believe there were multiple witnesses to the West Valley shooting, police said.
