PHOENIX — An indoor air adventure park operator is the first company to lease space at a retail center in the Mesa Asian District that is set to undergo renovations.

Urban Air has leased nearly 45,000 square feet of space inside the 183,000-square-foot Broadway Mesa center on the northeast corner of Dobson and Broadway roads, according to a Tuesday press release.

The operator, which has four other Valley locations, will be housed within the 100,000-square-foot main big box retail building.

Dallas-based Urban Air’s indoor parks have more than 20 attractions, including ropes courses, climbing walls, laser tag, go-karts and more.

“Mekong Group is committed to the long-term success of Broadway Mesa and its position as a contributing member of this vibrant Mesa community,” Western Retail Advisors broker Bryan Babits said in the release.

“Their renovations will create a fresh, new destination for residents to shop and play – with Urban Air being the first of many additions to come.”

What are renovation plans for Mesa Asian District center?

Broadway Mesa renovations are expected to begin in 2025.

They will address interior and façade improvements in the property’s main building — where Urban Air will be housed — and then move on to the remaining 80,000 square feet of in-line retail space.

Tenants currently housed in the main building will soon move to the in-line retail building. They include Hong Kong Gifts and Dealer Nail Supply.

A lease commitment in the main building adjacent to Urban Air is expected to be announced early next year.
