Tool to administer another dose of ‘Fear Inoculum’ at Glendale arena

PHOENIX – Did you miss out on seeing Tool in October? Fear not.

The prog-metal masters are coming back to Gila River Arena in Glendale as they tour North America behind their long-awaited new album.

That’s right, Arizona wine mogul Maynard James Keenan and mates have extended their “Fear Inoculum” trek into 2020 and will be back in the Valley on Jan. 18.

Tool just got done pummeling metro Phoenix fans’ ears and eyes with their heavy sounds and darkly spectacular visual presentation Oct. 23.

Tickets for the return go on sale to the general public Friday at 10 a.m.

The show is one of 11 between Jan. 10 and Feb. 1 revealed by the meticulous band Monday.

No opening act was announced for the new dates. Industrial pioneers Killing Joke have been opening on the tour’s first leg.

Before hitting the road last month, Tool broke a 13-year drought of new material with the release of “Fear Inoculum,” their first release since 2006’s “10,000 Days.”

In the lead-up to the highly anticipated album, the band’s back catalog of studio recordings was made available for the first time on streaming services.

When not belting out songs with Tool and his other projects, Puscifer and A Perfect Circle, Keenan operates his Jerome-based wine business.

Earlier this year he opened the Merkin Vineyards tasting room and restaurant in Old Town Scottsdale.
