1-year-old nearly drowns in south Phoenix backyard pool
A one-year-old is in stable condition after he nearly drowned in a south Phoenix backyard pool Thursday evening.

PHOENIX — A one-year-old toddler is in stable condition after he nearly drowned in a south Phoenix backyard pool Thursday evening.
The near drowning happened near 47th Street and Southern Avenue at 8 p.m., according to the Phoenix Fire Department.
The toddler was underwater for several minutes. Family members administered CPR immediately after he was pulled out.
When firefighters arrived, the boy was alert and crying.
He was taken to a nearby hospital where he is recovering.
Details on how the child ended up in the water were not made available.
