Tempe hosting unity walk, diversity festival for East Valley cities

PHOENIX — The city of Tempe is hosting a unity walk and diversity festival for several East Valley cities and towns.
The 2020 Regional Unity Walk and Diversity Festival rolls into Tempe Beach Park from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Chandler, Mesa, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Gilbert and Guadalupe will take part in the free event, which promotes mutual respect, acceptance and understanding.
The event starts with the festival, which will include free refreshments and entertainment, at 4:30 p.m.
The walk, a 1-mile excursion over the Mill Avenue Bridge, will begin at 6 p.m.
A limited amount of shirts will be passed out for those who want to represent their cities.
Parking will be available at the Tempe Beach Park surface lot and other surrounding areas.
