Man shot by unknown suspect after answering door at Phoenix apartment complex

An unknown suspect shot a man who answered the door at a Phoenix apartment complex early Thursday morning.

An unknown suspect shot a man who answered the door at a Phoenix apartment complex early Thursday morning, authorities said.

Officers responded to a shooting call just after 3:20 a.m. at the Allora Phoenix Apartments on Glendale Avenue near 23rd Avenue, across the street from Washington High School, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Police found one gunshot victim. The injured man was taken to a hospital in critical but stable condition.

The male suspect fled the scene.

If you feel the need to go toward your front door when you don't expect somebody, lay on the ground and yell, "Who is it?" If they don't answer, crawl back to bed and call 911.
