Released images show suspect reportedly visited Nancy Guthrie’s home multiple times

PHOENIX — Images previously released by authorities reportedly show the masked suspect caught on camera outside Nancy Guthrie’s Tucson home visited her residence on a different day from when authorities believe she went missing, according to ABC News.

ABC News’ sources alleged Monday that an image released by the FBI that shows the suspect without a backpack was captured by Guthrie’s Nest doorbell camera on a day that was before her possible abduction.

Meanwhile, other images released by the FBI — that the agency says are from Feb. 1 — show the suspect wearing the backpack, which has been identified as a “black, 25-liter ‘Ozark Trail Hiker Pack’ backpack.” The FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department are working with Walmart to try and identify the buyer of the back pack. 

PCSD responded to this report later Monday.

“We are aware that doorbell images released earlier in the investigation depict a suspect in different stages of attire, including with and without a backpack,” PCSD said. “There is no date or time stamp associated with these images. Therefore, any suggestion that the photographs were taken on different days is purely speculative.”

Fox News’ Michael Ruiz and News Nations’ Brian Entin also had sources say that previously released images were taken on a different date than others.

PCSD said last Friday it hasn’t ruled out the possibility that more than one person was involved in Guthrie’s abduction more than three weeks ago.

PCSD said the different samples of DNA that have been acquired throughout its investigation are still being analyzed and that the process “can be lengthy.” The agency added Saturday that “multiple gloves” have been collected are also being looked at as well.

The 84-year-old mother of “Today” anchor Savannah Guthrie hasn’t been seen since she was dropped off at her Catalina Foothills home the night of Jan. 31.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department and FBI have been working under the assumption that she was taken against her will that night or the next morning.

More than 21,000 tips have been submitted to the FBI, according to PCSD, with people being asked to call 1-800-CALL-FBI (225-5324) with any relevant information they have on Guthrie. Those with information can also submit tips online.
