Nancy Guthrie: Pima County Sheriff’s Department ‘not ruling out’ possibility of multiple suspects

PHOENIX — Investigators were still working Friday to identify the masked person seen on doorbell surveillance video outside Nancy Guthrie’s house in Tucson.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said it hasn’t ruled out the possibility that more than one person was involved in Guthrie’s abduction nearly three weeks ago.

The 84-year-old mother of “Today” anchor Savannah Guthrie hasn’t been seen since she was dropped off at her Catalina Foothills home the night of Jan. 31.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department and FBI have been working under the assumption that she was taken against her will that night or the next morning.

PCSD added the different samples of DNA that have been acquired throughout its investigation are still being analyzed and that the process “can be lengthy.”

More than 21,000 tips have been submitted to the FBI as of Friday, according to PCSD, with people being asked to call 1-800-CALL-FBI (225-5324) with any relevant information they have on Guthrie. Those with information can also submit tips online.
