Suspect arrested in connection with deadly 2024 Phoenix shooting
A suspect has been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting in Phoenix that left one man dead and a woman injured last year.

PHOENIX — A suspect has been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting in Phoenix that left one man dead and a woman injured last year.
The Phoenix Police Department identified 47-year-old Gary Cole Jr. as the man taken into custody on Tuesday in connection with the fatal shooting. He was booked into jail on murder charges.
According to Phoenix police, officers responded to a shooting call near Hazelwood Street and Black Canyon Highway around 10 p.m. on Jan. 15, 2024.
Upon arrival, police found 62-year-old Willie Earl Dodd and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. They were both taken to a nearby hospital where Dodd was pronounced dead, authorities said
The woman’s name and condition were not revealed.
