West Valley firefighter suffers neck injury while responding to house fire
Two firefighters with the Sun City Fire and Medical Department were evaluated for injuries after responding to a Sunday house fire, authorities said.

PHOENIX — Two Sun City firefighters were evaluated for injuries in a house fire on Sunday, authorities said.
Rob Schmitz with the Sun City Fire and Medical Department said the fire started on the back patio of the home near Grand and 99th avenues, then spread into the residence.
“We did have a couple of firefighters evaluated on scene for heat exposure,” Schmitz told KTAR News 92.3 FM on Sunday.
What injuries did Sun City firefighters sustain while responding to house fire?
One of the two injured firefighters was hit by falling drywall and was brought to a hospital for neck pain, he added.
However, that firefighter was later released following a medical examination.
No civilians were injured in the Sun City house fire.
The cause of that fire remains under investigation.

Speaking from experience Firefighters always face danger when on a call. Many have been hurt getting to the scene because of bad drivers.
It's pretty gutsy stuff going into unknown high intensity situations with a lot of variables.
