1 dead, another seriously injured in wrong-way crash on SR 143 in Tempe
A head-on collision involving a driver traveling the wrong way on State Route 143 in Tempe early Sunday morning left one person dead and another seriously injured.

PHOENIX — A head-on collision involving a driver traveling the wrong way on State Route 143 in Tempe early Sunday morning left one person dead and another seriously injured.
State troopers received calls around 1:15 a.m. of the wrong-way driver heading north in the southbound lanes of SR 143.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety said it was notified of the collision shortly after in the transition area from U.S. 60.
The area of the freeway was closed for investigation, but it has since reopened.
It was not immediately clear if the wrong-way driver had died or if it was other drivers involved.
No other information was available.
