Investigation underway after girl killed in south Phoenix shooting
An investigation is underway after a girl was killed Tuesday night in a south Phoenix shooting.

PHOENIX – An investigation is underway after a girl was killed Tuesday night in a south Phoenix shooting, authorities said.
Officers were dispatched to a neighborhood near Seventh Avenue and Broadway Road for an unknown trouble call around 9:15 p.m., according to the Phoenix Police Department.
While the officers were en route, they learned the caller was in a vehicle that left the area and drove north from the shooting scene.
Police located the caller near Seventh Avenue and Buckeye Road and learned that a juvenile female had been shot. The victim, whose name and age were not released, died after being taken to a hospital.
“Officers detained multiple people who (were) in the home when the shooting occurred,” Sgt. Phil Krynsky said in a media advisory.
Police detectives launched an investigation, which is ongoing.
No other details were immediately available.
