Peoria to honor Hispanic Heritage Month with return of ¡Somos Peoria!

The city of Peoria is bringing back the ¡Somos Peoria! festival to honor Hispanic Heritage Month in September.

The city of Peoria is bringing back the ¡Somos Peoria! festival in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month in September.

The annual festival will take place Sept. 27 from 5 to 10:30 p.m. at Centennial Plaza behind the Peoria City Hall.

It’s the eighth iteration of the event, a chance to dance to live Latin music and enjoy authentic, traditional Mexican street food, beer and margaritas.

Vendors will be selling arts and crafts at the event as well.

Event organizers are calling for more artists to perform at the event, as well as vendors and sponsors.

Who will be performing at ¡Somos Peoria!

Performers already scheduled to perform include Color Me Badd, Las Calakas, Prime Society, Ballet Folklorico and the winner of the Peoria Shines band contest.

Tickets for the event cost $10 presale and $15 at the gate.

Free parking will be available at the parking garages on the Peoria City Hall campus.
