PHOENIX — Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is making efforts to alleviate stress for its travelers, as the Terminal 3 garage is being equipped with a new system that provides real-time parking information.
The system will help travelers both find “open spots and improve traffic flow,” according to a Monday press release.
Those entering the Sky Harbor parking garage will be directed to available spaces by “red/green indicator lights” on the ceiling, which process live data via a “camera-based guidance system.”
The same newly installed technology will also help customers locate their vehicle when they’ve returned from their travel destination.
The tech, known as “Portier VISION,” is being developed and refined in partnership with ACE Parking.
Customers can check how many of the 2,000-plus parking spaces are available in real-time online.
The Phoenix airport also has plans to install the system in the Terminal 4 garage, which has a capacity of nearly 7,000 parking spots.
An expanded Terminal 3, which will include six additional passenger gates, is expected to be completed earlier than initially projected.
