Silver Alert canceled, missing Surprise man found safe

A man who had been missing from a West Valley group home overnight has been found safe, ending a Silver Alert.

The Surprise Police Department had issued a Silver Alert on Sunday for Wesley Sjol, 60.

Sjol was found early Monday near a church in El Mirage.

He was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Sjol had last been seen Sunday morning. He suffers from a medical issue that may diminish his mental capacity. He doesn’t have any family in the area.

He had left the group home on Watson Lane near 152nd Avenue on foot.
