Silver Alert canceled after woman who went missing in Gilbert found safe

PHOENIX – Authorities canceled a Silver Alert for a woman who went missing in Gilbert after she was found safe.

When the alert was activated, 78-year-old Catherine Fredrickson had last been seen leaving a hotel near Baseline and Higley roads around 3 a.m. Monday.

She left the area without her cellphone in a silver 2019 Hyundai Sonata sedan. She was wearing a red button-up sweater over a polo shirt and black pants.

The Gilbert Police Department announced Monday night that Fredrickson had been located and was safe.

No other details about the case were made available.
