Silver Alert canceled after missing Phoenix man found safe

PHOENIX — Fernando Martinez Garcia, who was the subject of a Silver Alert after going missing in Phoenix on Thursday, was located by Glendale police in good condition Friday.

He was a little dehydrated but otherwise healthy, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Until being found, Garcia, 61, had been last seen on foot near 30th Avenue and Bethany Home Road.

A DPS spokesman told KTAR News 92.3 FM that Garcia is visiting from California and is not familiar with Phoenix.

Garcia is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs 200 pounds.

He has Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes and high blood pressure, and he only speaks Spanish.

He is bald with brown eyes and was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and black shorts. He wears glasses and walks with a cane.
