Silver Alert canceled for 64-year-old El Mirage woman

PHOENIX — A Silver Alert was canceled Friday afternoon after a missing 64-year-old El Mirage woman was found safe.

El Mirage police said they found Juana Nieto Serrano on Thursday near 111th Avenue and Olive Avenue and took her to the hospital.

They said she appeared to be in good health and is back with her family.

Serrano was last seen Wednesday leaving her family’s residence at the 14000 block of North Poppy Street at approximately 12:30 p.m.

She only speaks Spanish, has diabetes and did not take her medication for it, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Serrano is described as a 5-foot-5, 160-pound Hispanic woman with gray and black hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing a white, short-sleeved shirt with flowers, dark pants and tennis shoes with white, grey and pink coloring.

Authorities said Serrano left the residence without water.
