Police investigating early-morning shooting in Peoria
A juvenile was found injured after a shooting in Peoria that took place around 2 a.m. on Thursday, according to the Peoria Police Department.

PHOENIX — The Peoria Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Police officers overheard shots being fired near 85th and Peoria avenues around 2:30 a.m.
Early morning shooting in Peoria involved two vehicles, police say
Several citizens reported the shots, as well as the possibility that two vehicles were involved, according to police.
Officers investigating the scene found an unoccupied vehicle that had crashed behind a business. Police said it looked like it had been struck by gunfire.
Authorities later learned that a juvenile male who was brought to a local hospital with injuries had been connected to the crashed vehicle.
Shooting in Peoria still under investigation
Investigators also found multiple shell casings along 85th Avenue, police said.
Despite drone units with Peoria PD searching the area for additional suspects, no one was found, police said.
Detectives currently believe this was an isolated incident between parties that knew each other.
This is an active investigation.
