Police look for suspect in central Phoenix park shooting, leaving 2 teens hospitalized

PHOENIX – Police are searching for a suspect after a shooting at a central Phoenix park on Monday evening left two teenagers hospitalized.

At 5:50 p.m., officers responded to a call about a shooting at Kid Street Park near 23rd Avenue and Camelback Road, according to Phoenix police.

When officers arrived, they found a teen boy and girl with non-life-threatening injuries from the shooting.

Firefighters responded and took both teens to a nearby hospital to be treated, according to police.

Detectives interviewed witnesses, collected evidence and searched for surveillance video. Officers learned the suspect had fled the scene.

The investigation remains ongoing as police search for the suspect.
