Seven Arizona students reach third round of 2018 National Spelling Bee
The third round of the 2018 National Spelling Bee will take place Wednesday from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. and can be viewed on ESPN3.

PHOENIX — Seven of the eight Arizona participants in the 2018 Scripps National Spelling Bee got through the first day.
They will compete in round three Wednesday.
The lone student to spell a word incorrectly was Annabelle Tran from Frontier Elementary School. She spelled tracheostomy incorrectly. She used an “i” instead of an “e,” spelling it “trachiostomy.”
The other seven students were correct in their spellings:
- Isabella Padilla – “amphivorous.”
- Marcus Giorza – “teredines.”
- Daniel Wu – “nemathelminth.”
- Kelly Haven – “Pasteurella.”
- Lindsay Davis – “eland.”
- Max Greenspan – “scyliorhinid.”
- Iscent George – “cambio.”
The third round will take place Wednesday from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. and can be viewed on ESPN3.
On Thursday, the finals will take place.
The first round will be on ESPN2 from 7 to 11 a.m. Part two will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on ESPN.
