Arizona sexual predator gets 16-year sentence for exploiting children

PHOENIX – An Arizona man was sentenced to 16 years in prison for sexually exploiting children, authorities announced Thursday.

Gabriel Spencer Carr, 24, pleaded guilty to three felony charges in September and was sentenced earlier this month, according to the Arizona Attorney General’s Office.

Prosecutors said Carr posted images online of minors being exploited and also had additional child sexual abuse material on his cellphone.

Two minor victims were identified in the images he posted online. The children in the material on his phone were not identified, but an expert estimated they were younger than 15, with one victim possibly under 5, according to prosecutors.

What charges were Gabriel Carr sentenced to prison for?

A Maricopa County grand jury indicted Carr on 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor in March. Six months later, he pleaded guilty to one count of sexual exploitation of a minor and two counts of attempted sexual exploitation of a minor.

He’ll face lifetime supervised probation with sex offender terms when he gets out of prison.

The Arizona Attorney General’s Office and Homeland Security Investigations collaborated on the case.

“We are vigilantly investigating and prosecuting online predators and those exploiting vulnerable Arizona children,” Attorney General Kris Mayes said in a press release. “I’m proud that my office works so closely with federal and local law enforcement partners to protect victims and bring these online predators to justice.”
