PHOENIX — A Scottsdale man has been indicted for allegedly hiring two men to kidnap his ex-girlfriend last year, authorities said.

Jay Borker, 65, is accused of hiring and paying the men $15,000 to kidnap and tie up his ex-girlfriend, Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced Friday.

Borker is also accused of asking the men, who were undercover detectives with the Tempe Police Department, to take her dog and kill it, indicating it would make her suffer, according to the email.

He faces money laundering, conspiracy, attempted kidnapping and burglary charges.

He was arrested and a $5 million cash bond was set, authorities said.

Borker posted the bond and is on electrical monitoring while awaiting a pre-trial conference scheduled for Thursday.
