PHOENIX — The suspect police were looking for in connection to a Scottsdale Labor Day murder has been arrested, authorities said.

The Scottsdale Police Department said that Matthew Dieringer, 35, was taken into custody by Phoenix police on Saturday.

A person recognized Dieringer in the area of 32nd Street and Indian School Road and called police to report him.

It was there he was taken into custody.

What led to Dieringer being arrested for the Scottdale Labor Day murder?

On Thursday, the department had asked for the public’s help in finding Dieringer after 67-year-old Frank Quaranta was found dead on Monday in his home near 68th Street and McDowell Road.

Police found Quaranta around 1:30 p.m. during a welfare check after he didn’t show up to work.

Detectives processed the scene and identified Dieringer as a suspect.

Police called the fatal incident “a targeted attack” and described Dieringer as manipulative and charismatic.

The department also noted that Dieringer had a history of experiencing homelessness and would befriend others so they help find him a place to stay.

Well.... just because he doesn't have the skin color or hispanic surname, doesn't mean he isn't an illegal immigrant. Kind of a reverse version of racial profiling, don't you think? Maybe call it racial un-profiling?
