2 students, 1 adult hospitalized after school buses crash in Peoria

Two students and one adult have been brought to a local hospital after two school buses crashed in Peoria on Friday afternoon, authorities said.

PHOENIX — Two students have been hospitalized following a collision involving multiple school buses in Peoria on Friday afternoon.

An adult has also been brought to a local hospital after the crash between multiple Valley Del Sol school buses, according to the Peoria Police Department.

There were two buses involved in the crash near 87th Avenue and Cactus Road, according to ABC15.

The vehicles were carrying students from The Academy of Math and Science.

There were about 90 students involved, or about 40 kids in each bus, police said.

Firefighters were still on the scene evaluating everyone involved as of 3 p.m.

Police said 83rd Avenue and Sweetwater Avenue southbound will be closed for several hours as police investigate the collision.
